After 23 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. 25 minutes into the game, Jonathan Venegas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Scaloneta the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Venezuela fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! Jonathan Ferrant went to the wrong direction when Lautaro Martinez was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 28th minute, Tomas Illescas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dibag Martinez. The goal made the score 1-0. Patricio Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patricio Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th minute of the match Leandro Paredes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. Lautaro Martinez took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Enzo Fernández hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Lion Messi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lion Messi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 56 played minutes La Scaloneta got a freekick which was hit by Marcos Acuña. Through an outstanding action, after 59 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Venezuela's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Lion Messi 61 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. When Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye La Scaloneta's goalie prevented a goal. Leandro Paredes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Lautaro Martinez sent off a good shot on target. La Scaloneta's Julián Álvarez was substituted for Lion Messi. Cristian Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 75th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Illescas to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julián Álvarez in the 76th minute of play. A collision led to La Scaloneta getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Marcos Acuña hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Lautaro Martinez managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Scaloneta's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Martinez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Paredes in the 83rd minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Leandro Paredes came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dibag Martinez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 85th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Martinez got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julián Álvarez did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-4 to the left of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant 93 minutes into the match. When the final whistle sounded La Scaloneta left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Venezuela.
