Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Costa Rica's Axel Tasis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juan Rubio during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 2 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. In the 6th minute Lautaro Puig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Gartxot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicasio Barea. Nicasio Barea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the game, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eloy Gartxot made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 21 minutes, Alan Moruga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Steelares FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Tasis in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eloy Gartxot prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fabricio Ganix kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Lautaro Puig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Eloy Gartxot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emanuel Vasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Nicasio Barea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emanuel Vasco to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Nicasio Barea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 52nd minute Steelares FC were awarded a corner. Nicasio Barea went to the cornerflag to take it. Steelares FC's Emanuel Vasco was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Benito Sanz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Nicasio Barea came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Steelares FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicasio Barea couldn't finish the play. Axel Tasis might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eloy Gartxot. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Axel Tasis ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Steelares FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Blas Bernabel hit a great ball. Amadeo Marcones received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes into the game, Emanuel Vasco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 72nd minute, Lautaro Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 75 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. The audience was convinced that Amadeo Marcones's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. 78 minutes into the game, Steelares FC's Nicasio Barea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Steelares FC's Silvestre Adrio was substituted for Nicasio Barea. Steelares FC's Emanuel Vasco got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Steelares FC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabricio Ganix scored 3-1 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Gartxot having to interfere. Steelares FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
