After having played for 11 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Prime Hock in the 13th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lorenzo Beckman was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Dragons AFC's Prime Hock got a free kick in the 16th minute. After 17 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lorenzo Beckman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. Jo-Wilfried Schouten received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Jo-Wilfried Schouten slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 22nd minute. In the 25th minute, Dragons AFC's Prime Hock dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. 30 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jo-Wilfried Schouten. A hard shot 35 in the game by Jo-Wilfried Schouten from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved. Lorenzo Beckman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 43rd minute of play forced Dragons AFC's goalkeeper Lorenzo Beckman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dragons AFC made a substitution. Nicasio Gomesano replaced Natalio Eneto. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 45th minute after Dragons AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jo-Wilfried Schouten in the 50th minute of play. In the 52nd minute of the match Dragons AFC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nicasio Gomesano ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Justino Santos heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Lorenzo Beckman in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Sancho in the 56thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lorenzo Beckman, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lorenzo Beckman having to interfere. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Lorenzo Beckman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 67 minutes into the match, Prime Hock notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dragons AFC made a substitution. Valentin Elorri replaced Nicasio Gomesano. With his leg Lorenzo Beckman managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 81 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lorenzo Beckman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prime Hock, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Jo-Wilfried Schouten came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Dragons AFC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
