Tomas Illescas stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Olimpiu Hârlău. 2-1. 33 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yu Feng Xi. A collision led to Carpathian Wolves getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Leszek Pisarczyk hit a great ball. In the 52nd minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yu Feng Xi, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Carpathian Wolves were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mugur Timofte took the corner. The referee ignored Carpathian Wolves's protests and gave Philip Rosendal a yellow card for diving instead.
