After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a free kick in the 5th minute. 曾钢西 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to 凯文加兰特 getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. 林斌银 hit a great ball. A sloppy throw-in by 齐思希 in the 15th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by El Salvador's Joshua Curbelo. In the 23rd minute, 凯文加兰特's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Moises Fernandino fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Abram Luque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 33 minutes, Moises Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Salvador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Fernandino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 凯文加兰特's 苏锋朗 proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save 凯文加兰特 from getting a goal against them. 苏锋朗 made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Moises Fernandino sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute, Moises Fernandino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. 苏锋朗 was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 林斌银 hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. 曾钢西 was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of 凯文加兰特 booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jesus Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 苏锋朗 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Luque in the 58th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Fernandino in the 66th minute of play forced 凯文加兰特's goalkeeper 苏锋朗 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 played minutes, 凯文加兰特's 冯鹏杰 shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in 凯文加兰特 reached it. 苏锋朗 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Fernandino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 81 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when 曾钢西 came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 曾钢西's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Zorita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. If 曾钢西 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, 凯文加兰特 failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
