Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andrea Tofani in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Day prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alexsandro Godoi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cassius Byrne went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Alexsandro Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 41st minute of play. After 44 minutes USA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ezequiel Leizarraga who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on I ritirandi di Canaus's corner Ezequiel Leizarraga fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marco Day quite easily take care of the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cassius Byrne to make the kick off. Alexsandro Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sam Campbell in the 80th minute of play. I ritirandi di Canaus's Alexsandro Godoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 83rd minute of play. Ezequiel Leizarraga struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Marco Day didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for I ritirandi di Canaus. USA made a substitution. Khalid Parry replaced Monty Rogers. Alexsandro Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Baker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Despite being the better team, USA failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
