Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomasz Burufski stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute of the match GORNIK PIASKI got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariusz Nalaskowski ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led GORNIK PIASKI's Mariusz Nalaskowski to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boguslaw Zawaski having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Hugon Pincoski managed to get in a good position for a shot. GORNIK PIASKI's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugon Pincoski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomasz Burufski's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. After 87 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. Hugon Pincoski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
