In the 10th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. When Jacinto Galeno came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Águilas Poblanas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacinto Galeno couldn't finish the play. Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Victor Macias, made in the 13th minute of the game. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 19thth minute of the game Jacinto Galeno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Jacinto Galeno took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. Eusebio Beltran blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. In the 26th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jacinto Galeno got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Jacinto Galeno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jacinto Galeno in the 31st minute. When Águilas Poblanas's Jacinto Galeno in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. A sloppy throw-in by Klement Malik in the 43rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Venezuela's Jose Correa. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Eusebio Beltran came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Águilas Poblanas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eusebio Beltran couldn't finish the play. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Niklas Pedersson was slow to take the kick. During this time Águilas Poblanas's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Niklas Pedersson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacinto Galeno in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Jacinto Galeno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Jacinto Galeno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Águilas Poblanas's Iker Urti in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. When Joshua Secada came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joshua Secada couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iker Urti, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 83 minutes into the match, Iker Urti notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iker Urti in the 90th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Epifanio Intxixu kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
