The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anthony Alvarado helped the player get up and apologised. Leandro Munio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 7th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the game, Johan Kiewit cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Rolando Noboa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bermejo Club's Leandro Munio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute of the game Alonso Berganza made a throw-in which Moises Gayoso played forward. With an all-out effort, Peru's Leandro Munio threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Julian Murillo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johan Kiewit in the 25th minute of play. 28 minutes into the game, Bermejo Club's Johan Kiewit nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolando Noboa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Bermejo Club's King Nanuk managed to work through Peru's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. King Nanuk dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After 39 minutes, Johan Kiewit mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bermejo Club and the Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. Johan Kiewit hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquin Prats in the 42nd minute of play forced Bermejo Club's goalkeeper Leandro Munio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Feliberto Tauro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. After the first half Bermejo Club were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Johan Kiewit to make the kick off. Luz Tejedor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Leandro Munio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Bermejo Club's Johan Kiewit sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 62nd match minute, Bermejo Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruperto Theobald to maneuver through the defense. Bermejo Club's Honorio Nikola was substituted for Johan Kiewit. A sloppy throw-in by David Hulberto in the 84th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Alonso Berganza. 85 minutes into the match, Bermejo Club's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Gallo came free, but Leandro Munio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Honorio Nikola in the 87th minute. 90 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bermejo Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eliseo Mina was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. After some careless play in the Bermejo Club defense, Milagros Fraga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leandro Munio. The Bermejo Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leandro Munio should have stopped the shot. Bermejo Club's David Hulberto quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Anthony Alvarado, made in the 95th minute of the game. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Bermejo Club eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
