The tension between the Campus Douro Academy and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Zeferino Igrejas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Campus Douro Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Zeferino Igrejas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeferino Igrejas having to interfere. 45 minutes in the game, Daniel Zorita dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. 48 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zeferino Igrejas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vítor Macedo to make the kick off. Zeferino Igrejas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 54th minute. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Agustín Saelices took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Zeferino Igrejas to make any attempt to save it. Zeferino Igrejas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 67th minute. After having played for 68 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Zeferino Igrejas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Altino Tristão kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. The supporters of Campus Douro Academy booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeferino Igrejas having to interfere. When Jorge Pinheiro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 85 minutes had been played. Jorge Pinheiro hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Campus Douro Academy's Zeferino Igrejas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 95th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Campus Douro Academy.
