But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Mancebo couldn't finish the play. Cassandros Elite Team's Olavo Pinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 38th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Cassandros Elite Team's zone, Luca Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olavo Pinto came out of the goal and Luca Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Olavo Pinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Zorita to maneuver through the defense. Olavo Pinto made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. Joel Gaona succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 60th playminute. Cassandros Elite Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joel Gaona was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. 92 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Bandeira came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emílio Bandeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mexico walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
