A collision led to GuateFortín getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Máximo Perrone hit a great ball. Nery Pumpido made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Joel Gaona sent off a good shot on target. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 9th minute of the match. Nery Pumpido made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 10th minute. 10 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nery Pumpido. Lautaro Mancebo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 16thth minute of the game Sven-Edvin Jansson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zico Zellier in the 18th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zico Zellier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zico Zellier scored 1-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nery Pumpido made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 27th minute. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mexico's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Angel Alvarenga was slow to take the kick. During this time GuateFortín's players had a chance to rest. In the 35th minute Zico Zellier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, GuateFortín's Angel Alvarenga got a free kick in the 36th minute. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 40th minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Lacasa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nery Pumpido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 61st minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nery Pumpido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 64 minutes GuateFortín's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Luca Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nery Pumpido quite easily take care of the ball. Nery Pumpido came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Luca Zorita. But to his dismay, Luca Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 75 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nery Pumpido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. GuateFortín's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Thierry Henry stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and Thierry Henry tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thierry Henry, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by GuateFortín's Thierry Henry. But to his dismay, Thierry Henry quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3.
