Placido Llanos made a great header on Defensores de Mar de Ajó's corner, it was just that Colombia's Pedro Manzanares managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 29th minute Pascual Carballar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kleopas Plouffe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santino Seco struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Kleopas Plouffe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colombia. Kleopas Plouffe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kleopas Plouffe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 45th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abram Sarmiento was the one to do the kick off. Gogo Elequemedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Defensores de Mar de Ajó's Kleopas Plouffe got control of the ball when Axel Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. 61 minutes into the game, Inautzi Quesada threw the ball into play from the sideline. A collision led to Defensores de Mar de Ajó getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Gogo Elequemedo hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abram Secada got free with Kleopas Plouffe in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Abram Secada took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kleopas Plouffe. Kleopas Plouffe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Ignacio Mastache could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Kleopas Plouffe made a huge save. In the 79th minute, Gogo Elequemedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 82nd minute Ignacio Mastache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kleopas Plouffe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gogo Elequemedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abram Secada received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kleopas Plouffe came out and tried to block the shot, but Abram Secada slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 89th minute. Defensores de Mar de Ajó's Rogelio Jaen was substituted for Alberto Aznar. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
