Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Varennes's Bernardo Goudreau in the 59th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Julio Vera was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Ecuador through an amazing save. Seth Luke's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. After having played for 65 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
