A collision led to Catholic Church getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Bo-Erik Östensson hit a great ball. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henrik Ingemarsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute of the match, Luis Andino tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Henrik Ingemarsson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 17th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Catholic Church's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 20th minute of play forced Catholic Church's goalkeeper Henrik Ingemarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 22nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henrik Ingemarsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrik Ingemarsson having to interfere. Henrik Ingemarsson made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Catholic Church's Henrik Ingemarsson got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Oskar Bergqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Henrik Ingemarsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 37th minute of play. Felix Montenegro made in the 38th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Catholic Church's Stig-Åke Ljungberg. After a defensive mix-up in Catholic Church's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henrik Ingemarsson came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd play minute Daniel Zorita came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Henrik Ingemarsson. 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Henrik Ingemarsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Catholic Church's Mathias Björk got a free kick in the 60th minute. Henrik Ingemarsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felix Montenegro's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Felix Montes hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 70th minute of play forced Catholic Church's goalkeeper Henrik Ingemarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 71 minutes Catholic Church's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. In the 75th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrik Ingemarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henrik Ingemarsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 76th minute. Catholic Church's Henrik Ingemarsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrik Ingemarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henrik Ingemarsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 88th minute of play. In the 91st minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Henrik Ingemarsson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Stig-Åke Ljungberg came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96thth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Catholic Church's Henrik Ingemarsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. There was no doubt that Ecuador were the better team. Ecuador's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
