Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raul Gaizko in the 79th minute of play. After 80 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bonifacio Petri who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Antapoca FC's corner Bonifacio Petri fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. The Antapoca FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
