OLYMPIOS ZEUS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Thanos Kopitsis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After having played for 24 minutes, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Berganza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to OLYMPIOS ZEUS getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Herbert Rojewski hit a great ball. In the 26th minute of the match Abraham Alguacil sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thanos Kopitsis skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Panama booed when OLYMPIOS ZEUS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Odysseas Vlassopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adolf Putin in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcos Cotilla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 31 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Alex Cambeiro. When Matthew Garrido fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Panama's protests and gave Matthew Garrido a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of OLYMPIOS ZEUS booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthew Garrido didn't get a good kick on the ball. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Eduardov in the 39th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emilio Eduardov to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of OLYMPIOS ZEUS booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthew Garrido didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 55th minute of play forced OLYMPIOS ZEUS's goalkeeper Thanos Kopitsis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, one of Panama:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Panama. The referee gave OLYMPIOS ZEUS a penalty, 65 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Emilio Eduardov, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Panama's Marcos Cotilla. 1-1. With an all-out effort, OLYMPIOS ZEUS's Marcos Cotilla threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Emilio Eduardov, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Marcos Cotilla made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Adolf Putin sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emilio Eduardov in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Cotilla saved Panama from getting behind. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilio Eduardov in the 75th minute of play. OLYMPIOS ZEUS made a substitution. Baldomiro Llorenc replaced Adolf Putin. In the 82nd match minute, OLYMPIOS ZEUS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Turan Gençyaz to maneuver through the defense. Abraham Alguacil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Thanos Kopitsis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baldomiro Llorenc in the 88th minute of the match. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Eduardov in the 92nd minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thanos Kopitsis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to OLYMPIOS ZEUS getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Panos Karoubalos hit a great ball. 98 minutes into the game, Panos Karoubalos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. OLYMPIOS ZEUS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panama the free kick.
