Benito Illan came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benito Illan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the game, Vicente Jakue cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 25 minutes, Dino Simeoni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tilili's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dino Simeoni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benito Illan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by Tilili's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joaquin Cordero during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 30th minute, Joaquin Cordero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Illan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benito Illan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montes in the 33rd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Felix Montes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Dino Simeoni could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Benito Illan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Dino Simeoni made the kick off in the second half. When Felix Montenegro fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Felix Montenegro a yellow card for diving instead. Tilili made a substitution. Anselmo Cilio replaced Lico Abel. After 55 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Illan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benito Illan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Tilili's Benito Illan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Tilili from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Vicente Jakue put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Vicente Jakue kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benito Illan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 76th minute. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Benito Illan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 85th minute. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Benito Illan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 86 minutes into the match, Vicente Jakue notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
