Rodrigo Gaspard stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. 25 minutes into the game, Alex Chicote was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piedras Albas AFC the free kick. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Marcos Bellido sent off a good shot on target. Marcos Bellido could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcos Bellido stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 72nd minute, Tomas Illescas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rodrigo Gaspard. The goal made the score 2-2. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Harendarski in the 76th minute of the match.
