Peru were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after FC Ruscova's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. A well done corner resulted in Alonso Berganza drilling the ball in to score 1-2 behind FC Ruscova's goalkeeper. A collision led to FC Ruscova getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Ciro Cortez hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kian Natanael got free with Rolando Noboa in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kian Natanael in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helmuth Duckadam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Milagros Fraga got free with Helmuth Duckadam in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro Cortez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute, Efraim Gilabert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Cortez, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. FC Ruscova's Helmuth Duckadam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Mina in the 88th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Eliseo Mina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Helmuth Duckadam was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. FC Ruscova's Aurel Trifan was substituted for Manuel Şoimu. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. A collision led to FC Ruscova getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Glauco Motta hit a great ball. 94 minutes into the match, FC Ruscova's goalkeeper Helmuth Duckadam had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafael Gallo. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Ruscova.
