Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dietrich Winkler having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Wally Auffarth came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lautaro Puig's late challenge caught a FC Fano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Puig helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Lautaro Puig hit a great ball. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wally Auffarth in the 19th minute of the match. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evren Cambaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to FC Fano getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Otto König hit a great ball. Axel Tasis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Dietrich Winkler made a huge save. Eliseo Noboa succeeded in the game's 34th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leon Adelstein in the 42nd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dietrich Winkler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Axel Tasis in the 43rd minute. In the 44th minute Evren Cambaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After taking down the ball on FC Fano's corner Charles Augsberger fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Benito Sanz quite easily take care of the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Evren Cambaz made a kick off. In the 51st minute Aaron Alcocer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dietrich Winkler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 54 minutes into the match, Evren Cambaz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Evren Cambaz might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Evren Cambaz ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 84th minute, Eliseo Noboa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 87th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. In the 91st match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. Evren Cambaz took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-4. FC Fano's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
