Luis Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Frasier Huber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alexis Veterini kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Luis Rubio hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. If Octavius Gräf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, Frasier Huber had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Frasier Huber was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. SalentoUnited's Augusto Lazcano quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Luis Rubio, made in the 43rd minute of the game.

Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frasier Huber, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Frasier Huber might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Zorita. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 70th minute, Frasier Huber left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SalentoUnited fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. SalentoUnited made a substitution. Patrice Brechbühl replaced Alexis Veterini. SalentoUnited's Urbano Hotz was substituted for Frasier Huber. Urbano Hotz might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Zorita. SalentoUnited's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
