Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raúl Laredo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Madaleno Jaraba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raúl Laredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milagros Fraga in the 35th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luz Tejedor got free with Raúl Laredo in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Juan Mata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Delinquentes Futbol Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Mata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rolando Noboa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Delinquentes Futbol Club's Zeru Cambero was substituted for Madaleno Jaraba.
