Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. Zheng Chao showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Anders Westerstrand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lawrance Grandison who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Dante Lacasa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lawrance Grandison in the 86th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Felix Luque got a free kick in the 88th minute. Zheng Chao stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alberto Tafalla's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Mexico were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
