Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Medero Arraz, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. With a little luck, FC CORK CITY's Siim Übi got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Medero Arraz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 15 minutes into the match, FC CORK CITY's goalkeeper Siim Übi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristi Cicortaș in the 20th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Siim Übi when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Kamel Messina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 37th minute Kamel Messina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Cristian Sancho could shoot a difficult shot in the 39th minute, which Siim Übi however easily saved by the left post. In the 43rd minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The wind increased when Cristi Cicortaș made the kick off in the second half. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Siim Übi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Siim Übi. Siim Übi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Siim Übi saved FC CORK CITY from getting behind. Siim Übi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 63rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 65th minute of play forced FC CORK CITY's goalkeeper Siim Übi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Despite this Siim Übi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Siim Übi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 87 minutes into the match, FC CORK CITY's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Siim Übi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Medero Arraz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Vera. That made the score 3-1 in the 88 minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Medero Arraz notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Ecuador walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
