Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 25th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 30 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Koldo Bermudez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Aita Lara hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvino España in the 37th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 38th minute, which Koldo Bermudez however easily saved by the left post. 40 minutes into the match, SANTA RAYO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Koldo Bermudez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aita Lara during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 70th match minute, SANTA RAYO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aita Lara to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Koldo Bermudez. Koldo Bermudez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. Koldo Bermudez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haritz Lillo in the 80th minute of play. In the 81stth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SANTA RAYO FC's Koldo Bermudez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Haritz Lillo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gai Etxeberria fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SANTA RAYO FC's protests and gave Gai Etxeberria a yellow card for diving instead. In the 87th match minute, SANTA RAYO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gai Etxeberria to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of SANTA RAYO FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball.
