Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hami Pala in the 10th minute of the match. KARATAŞ.FK were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Axel Runberg took the corner. In the 13th minute, Hjalmar Björck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the match, KARATAŞ.FK's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Göksel Kutsoy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Ecuador's Felix Montes to fire away a dangerous shot which Göksel Kutsoy despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Hjalmar Björck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, KARATAŞ.FK's goalkeeper Göksel Kutsoy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. In the 52nd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Luis Andino was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Göksel Kutsoy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Through an outstanding action, after 60 minutes, Göksel Kutsoy successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 61st minute. Ecuador's Felix Montes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Göksel Kutsoy in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hjalmar Björck in the 91st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Göksel Kutsoy in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
