The supporters of Ecuador booed when Tractorul Satulung -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marlon Brando didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mădălin Cangeopol, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Panait Hațegan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mădălin Cangeopol in the 23rd minute. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Panait Hațegan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 29th minute of the match. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 36 minutes into the match, Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Panait Hațegan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mădălin Cangeopol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 43 played minutes Tractorul Satulung -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Ovidiu Șişman. Panait Hațegan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. When Mădălin Cangeopol came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Tractorul Satulung -MM- fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mădălin Cangeopol couldn't finish the play. In the 56th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Panait Hațegan was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Panait Hațegan in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mugur Cenușă kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 78th minute, Mugur Cenușă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 92 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Alper Benli sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Alper Benli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Alper Benli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
