The supporters of Living Dead booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita got control of the ball when Güner Taşkınay tried to sneak it across the goal line. Moises Fernandino hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute Living Dead were awarded a corner. Michalis Rorris went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of El Salvador's goalie and right to Fanis Thomiou. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. El Salvador's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal.
