The referee gave Ecuador a penalty, 96 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Daniel Zorita, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Baldomiro Txindoki. 0-5. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
