Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rune Malmström in the 28th minute of the match. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by Kwaski Sandomierz's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Axel Montenegro was slow to take the kick. During this time Colombia's players had a chance to rest. Barbaros Sargan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevin Mastache, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barbaros Sargan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 42nd minute of play. The supporters of Kwaski Sandomierz booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pascual Carballar didn't get a good kick on the ball.
