In the 17th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joar Frisck was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of play forced FC NORDLAND's goalkeeper Joar Frisck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC NORDLAND's goalkeeper Joar Frisck, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rhys Hughes in the 30th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 60th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Joar Frisck was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC NORDLAND throughout the match.
