The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 5th minute of the game. One of Colombia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Los kyes:s goal. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Nderim Pepo took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Pedro Manzanares to make any attempt to save it. In the 17th minute of the match, Ronaldão de Amaral tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pedro Manzanares saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Nderim Pepo took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Pedro Manzanares to make any attempt to save it. Colombia's Kevin Mastache quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Bertil Bergström, made in the 23rd minute of the game. Colombia were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after Los kyes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Axel Montenegro took the corner. Orlando Tafalla made in the 29th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Los kyes's Raphael Santalla. In the 41st minute of the match Colombia got a corner. Los kyes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Axel Montenegro ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Colombia's corner Axel Montenegro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vidal quite easily take care of the ball. In the 43rd minute Santino Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vidal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Edward Pietrowicz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los kyes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Colombia the free kick. The supporters of Colombia booed when Los kyes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward Pietrowicz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Julio Vidal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 51st minute of play. The supporters of Colombia booed when Los kyes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anko Krústinov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vidal was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Axel Montenegro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nderim Pepo in the 56th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Los kyes's Pawel Brożek was substituted for Nderim Pepo. Los kyes made a substitution. Laurgain Jorquera replaced Ronaldão de Amaral. When Axel Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Colombia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Axel Montenegro couldn't finish the play. Colombia made a substitution. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. Pawel Brożek might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Manzanares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pawel Brożek ran back to his position shaking his head. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pawel Brożek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ignacio Mastache received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vidal came out and tried to block the shot, but Ignacio Mastache slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 75th minute. Julio Vidal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Secada, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 83rd minute, Pawel Brożek left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los kyes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Julio Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santino Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Kevin Mastache managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colombia's supporters rose to their feet, but Kevin Mastache was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vidal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 94 minutes, Pawel Brożek mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Los kyes and the Colombia players grew even worse after the yellow card.
