Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Luz Tejedor got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gianluca Buffon quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gianluca Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alonso Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nevşehirspor's Gianluca Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 22nd minute of play. Gianluca Buffon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gianluca Buffon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gianluca Buffon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Peru's Julian Murillo was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 31st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 34 minutes into the game, Ragnar Åberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Rolando Noboa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nevşehirspor's Gianluca Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Mina in the 37th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Peru's zone, Rıdvan Kurushov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal and Rıdvan Kurushov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronaldo Messi during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Nevşehirspor's Ronaldo Messi got a free kick in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Gianluca Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 52nd minute of play. Ragnar Åberg received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rolando Noboa came out and tried to block the shot, but Ragnar Åberg slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 66th minute. Nevşehirspor made a substitution. Bror Kent replaced Hami Tuğaltay. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Cipriano Proença sent off a good shot on target. Angelo Di Livio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 80th minute of play forced Nevşehirspor's goalkeeper Gianluca Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Noboa was a little too slow when Cipriano Proença got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 82nd minute. The score was now 1-3. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Eliseo Mina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gianluca Buffon having to interfere. Rıdvan Kurushov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Rolando Noboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Ferdi Kadıoğlu in the 94th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Peru lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
