Oriche Vega was left in no man's land by his defense there! Oriche Vega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Krasnodar FC's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gennadiy Demyanenko, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 13th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oriche Vega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Mikhail Ignatov sent off a good shot on target. In the 22nd match minute, Krasnodar FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arkadiy Dorenskiy to maneuver through the defense. Oriche Vega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Mikhail Ignatov scored 1-2 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oriche Vega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Krasnodar FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gennadiy Demyanenko to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 71st minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roman Serdyuk in the 71st minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oriche Vega having to interfere. In the 76th minute Roman Serdyuk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Krasnodar FC's Oriche Vega got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 82nd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. The supporters of Krasnodar FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
