Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cesur Kurceren, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Lara FK's Kubat Pirane got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Lara FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Acar Bilginer didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Axel Tasis from long distance, 23 minutes into the match, got Dursun Ali Alp's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Costa Rica's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Axel Tasis in the 25th minute. A nice corner shot did that Axel Tasis got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dursun Ali Alp quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The audience was convinced that Cesur Kurceren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. After 29 minutes of play, Lara FK's Hamdi Uma made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lara FK's Dursun Ali Alp proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Lara FK from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cesur Kurceren in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Cesur Kurceren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cesur Kurceren took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, Lara FK's Abdullah Taşgan got a free kick in the 40th minute. When Axel Tasis came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Axel Tasis couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cesur Kurceren made a kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Karahan İlksel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lara FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Lara FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karahan İlksel didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cesur Kurceren in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. In the 61st minute, Kubat Pirane reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 0-4. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cesur Kurceren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dursun Ali Alp didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Axel Tasis went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. After 87 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Noboa. Lautaro Puig struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Dursun Ali Alp didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match.
