When Agustín Saelices came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agustín Saelices couldn't finish the play. Zé Augusto Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. 9 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fc Camerunul ★DAC★'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Felix Montes made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Fc Camerunul ★DAC★'s Zé Augusto Santos managed to reach the ball for a save. Felix Montes scored 1-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé Augusto Santos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 13th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. 16 minutes into the match, Fc Camerunul ★DAC★'s goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Zé Augusto Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zé Augusto Santos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laurențiu Bărănescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when Fc Camerunul ★DAC★'s Laurențiu Bărănescu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Julio Vera stood somewhat misplaced when Laurențiu Bărănescu came free in front of goal and shot 3-2 to the left of him in the 32 minute. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Mattias Tingelholm tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mattias Tingelholm went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. 38 minutes into the match, Fc Camerunul ★DAC★'s goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Zé Augusto Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laurențiu Bărănescu got free with Julio Vera in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 41 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Laurențiu Bărănescu came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Augusto Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-2 at half-time.

The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Augusto Santos having to interfere. 67 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Augusto Santos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-3. Mattias Tingelholm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fc Camerunul ★DAC★'s Nicu Lucescu was substituted for Mattias Tingelholm. Zé Augusto Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 73rd minute of play. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Zé Augusto Santos made a huge save. After 82 minutes Fc Camerunul ★DAC★'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Zé Augusto Santos quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Laurențiu Bărănescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fc Camerunul ★DAC★'s supporters rose to their feet, but Laurențiu Bărănescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Felix Montenegro hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 91st minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurențiu Bărănescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Zé Augusto Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Fc Camerunul ★DAC★ were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
