Gerardo Pozo hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Severiano Calado during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 21 played minutes GD Fiães got a freekick which was hit by Severiano Calado. Cassiano Mendonça made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 22nd minute. Tobias Brites hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Cassiano Mendonça in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 30 minutes, Pedro Indiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Indiano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Telmo Teves in the 32nd minute of play. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobias Brites in the 38th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Cassiano Mendonça in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

53 minutes into the match, Amável Quental notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Chile's Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 56 minutes of play, Chile's Mariano Lacasa made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cassiano Mendonça was left in no man's land by his defense there! GD Fiães's Alex Ibáñez was substituted for Telmo Teves. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 70th minute of play forced GD Fiães's goalkeeper Cassiano Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cassiano Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind GD Fiães's goalkeeper Cassiano Mendonça, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The GD Fiães fans' excitement grew in the 82nd match minute when GD Fiães's Tobias Brites looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Chile's attentive Pedro Indiano managed to snatch the ball when Claudemiro Baptista made a throw-in in the 86th minute of the game. 87 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cassiano Mendonça narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobias Brites in the 90th minute of the match. Cassiano Mendonça didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mariano Lacasa went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. GD Fiães's Delyan Temelyotev was substituted for Rubim Falcão. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
