Benedito Trigo came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Chile's Mariano Lacasa. But to his dismay, Mariano Lacasa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 39th of the match, Serafim Barros tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Thiago Pliego got in the way and made a wonderful save. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. In the 44th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedito Trigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Sagarana Clube getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Zé Roberto da Costa hit a great ball. 47 minutes into the game, Rupert Dearden threw the ball into play from the sideline. Chile's Francisco Carballar quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

After a rather tough play, Sagarana Clube's Rupert Dearden got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sagarana Clube's goalkeeper Benedito Trigo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 89 minutes Sagarana Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mariano Lacasa who took care of the corner kick. Mariano Lacasa made a great header on Chile's corner, it was just that Sagarana Clube's Benedito Trigo managed to reach the ball for a save. Chile's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
