Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tyski GKS the free kick. After 43 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Axel Tasis. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Wincenty Wysocki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Wincenty Wysocki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tyski GKS's Wincenty Wysocki got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 55th match minute, Tyski GKS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ryszard Gdowik to maneuver through the defense. Dawid Klucznik might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abel Carballo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Roch Roman. Tyski GKS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Efrain Moruga fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Efrain Moruga a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Efrain Moruga hit a great ball. Axel Tasis hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Wincenty Wysocki sent off a good shot on target. Roch Roman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Puig, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute.
