Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) SV Wissenkerke's Jean-Paul Schuiling started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to SV Wissenkerke getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Casper Tinselboer hit a great ball. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gertjan Baars's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Jean-Paul Schuiling came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerjan Staarman in the 19th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Jean-Paul Schuiling left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SV Wissenkerke fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gertjan Baars went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when SV Wissenkerke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sjors Breugel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean-Paul Schuiling, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. If Mariano Bombarda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of SV Wissenkerke booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a rather tough play, SV Wissenkerke's Gerjan Staarman got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Jean-Paul Schuiling kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Sanz. That made the score 0-4 in the 55 minute of play. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute Jean-Paul Schuiling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariano Bombarda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Casper Tinselboer fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SV Wissenkerke's protests and gave Casper Tinselboer a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense. 68 minutes into the game, SV Wissenkerke's Gertjan Baars nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. A hard shot 73 in the game by Jean-Paul Schuiling from a close distance when the talented Benito Sanz managed to make a qualified save. Costa Rica's players were relieved. Gertjan Baarss short, quick shot in the 74thth minute got Benito Sanz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ronny Koole fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Jean-Paul Schuiling had several of the Costa Rica's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 78 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-6 score and a disappointed Benito Sanz as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 82nd minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Jean-Paul Schuiling managed to get in a good position for a shot. SV Wissenkerke's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean-Paul Schuiling was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerjan Staarman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alexander Carballo hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. When Jean-Paul Schuiling came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the SV Wissenkerke fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jean-Paul Schuiling couldn't finish the play. SV Wissenkerke's Gerjan Staarman got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 93rd minute Gerjan Staarman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle sounded SV Wissenkerke left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Costa Rica.
