In the 10th minute of the match F.C.Rohan got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Xaime Canosa ran over to the corner to take the kick. With an all-out effort, F.C.Rohan's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Xaime Canosa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. F.C.Rohan's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Xaime Canosa in the 14th minute. After 14 played minutes F.C.Rohan got a freekick which was hit by Paul Cacheres. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paul Cacheres in the 15th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paul Cacheres. Stasio Klimkiewicz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. The supporters of F.C.Rohan booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stasio Klimkiewicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Leal Losantos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denis Michalík received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leal Losantos, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paul Cacheres was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Paul Cacheres put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Paul Cacheres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Stasio Klimkiewicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 66th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leal Losantos in the 68th minute of play. The F.C.Rohan fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when F.C.Rohan's Paul Cacheres looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. F.C.Rohan made a substitution. Zaquiel Ramiréz replaced Denis Michalík. Stasio Klimkiewicz was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leal Losantos in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a free kick in the 90th minute.
