Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dave Rinaldi. Elegance Dijon's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agustín Saelices was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Elegance Dijon's goalie prevented a goal. Dave Rinaldi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of the match. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute. Felix Montes made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Elegance Dijon's Dave Rinaldi managed to reach the ball for a save. 17 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Fabien Cantin came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elegance Dijon's Dave Rinaldi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabien Cantin in the 34th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Bruce Pawlak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 42 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Dave Rinaldi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 44th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Fabien Cantin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 52nd play minutes Christian Minaud shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Julio Vera and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 55th minute of play forced Elegance Dijon's goalkeeper Dave Rinaldi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Elegance Dijon getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Fabien Cantin hit a great ball. After 65 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Dave Rinaldi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Eddy Brayer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabien Cantin in the 72nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Dave Rinaldi in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Sancho's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dave Rinaldi firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabien Cantin in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Dave Rinaldi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Fabien Cantin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
