With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Virginijus Balčaitis tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 45th minute Mustafa Hakan Tosunoğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, Naglis Guzas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 52nd minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Absoliut's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mustafa Hakan Tosunoğlu in the 54th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 55 minutes, Robertas Sabaitis successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 60 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Facundo Cadaval. Absoliut made a substitution. Jerzy Frankowski replaced Jonathan Chap. Facundo Cadaval kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Algitas Dubauskas sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Mexico's Dante Lacasa didn't even have to move. Alberto Tafalla took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robertas Sabaitis. Robertas Sabaitis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mustafa Hakan Tosunoğlu in the 66th minute of play. After 72 played minutes Absoliut got a freekick which was hit by Naglis Guzas. The supporters of Mexico booed when Absoliut was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Naglis Guzas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alberto Tafalla kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robertas Sabaitis having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Absoliut's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Robertas Sabaitis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Robertas Sabaitis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lautaro Mancebo ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mexico eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
