Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) After a defensive mix-up in SC Braga's zone, Mariano Lacasa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antonio Adán came out of the goal and Mariano Lacasa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 11th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Adán saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antonio Adán showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 22nd minute of the match. Antonio Adán didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mariano Lacasa went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 24 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Gerardo Pozo. In the 26th minute of the match Quintino Carvalhais sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thiago Pliego skillfully saved the ball. 30 minutes into the match, SC Braga's Zigmantas Gimbutas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pliego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 32nd minute of the match, Zigmantas Gimbutas tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Thiago Pliego saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Quintino Carvalhais's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Pliego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Quintino Carvalhais. SC Braga's Antonio Adán played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Braga's goalkeeper Antonio Adán, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 43rd minute Zigmantas Gimbutas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariano Lacasa to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Quintino Carvalhais shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by SC Braga's Quintino Carvalhais. But to his dismay, Quintino Carvalhais quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. SC Braga made a substitution. Antonio Cieri replaced Quintino Carvalhais. Orlando Casaus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Antonio Adán tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antonio Cieri in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Mariano Lacasa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antonio Adán was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. 68 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Antonio Cieri came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Chile booed when SC Braga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amado Parente didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antonio Adán made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Stig-Åke Mattsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pliego was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Antonio Adán showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Stig-Åke Mattsson came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Stig-Åke Mattsson came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the SC Braga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stig-Åke Mattsson couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stig-Åke Mattsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After taking down the ball on SC Braga's corner Lu Xun Lei fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Thiago Pliego quite easily take care of the ball. Alberto Malheiro made in the 92nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Lu Xun Lei however managed to control. 96 minutes into the game, SC Braga's Antonio Cieri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thiago Pliego made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2.
