Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jairo Natal to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Natal in the 55th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 严岚誉 scored 1-2 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardo Zorita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee gave Rusty Vaisey a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Rusty Vaisey hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute, Moises Fernandino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The El Salvador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2.
