Mexico's defense didn't have a chance, in the 18th minute, when Deilmison van Basten scored to the left of an out of position Dante Lacasa, making the score, 2-0. Deilmison van Basten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 21st minute. Rodriguinho Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 24th minute of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 27th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 28th minute of play forced ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Deilmison van Basten came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. ATHLETICO PRaiano were victorious despite being under pressure from Mexico for much of the match.
