The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Sarmiento de Resistencia getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Leopoldo Ixidor hit a great ball. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobias Elizardo having to interfere. Man Tas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Man Tas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dante Lacasa. Man Tas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. 46 minutes into the game, Joel Gaona was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mexico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sarmiento de Resistencia the free kick. Joel Gaona hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobias Elizardo having to interfere. Sarmiento de Resistencia's Tobias Elizardo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Sarmiento de Resistencia from getting a goal against them. Tobias Elizardo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 59th minute. The supporters of Mexico booed when Sarmiento de Resistencia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henning Martinsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sarmiento de Resistencia's Şafak Uysal quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leonardo Leoz, made in the 65th minute of the game. Tobias Elizardo made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. Sarmiento de Resistencia's attentive Dante Oton managed to snatch the ball when Leonardo Leoz made a throw-in in the 80th minute of the game. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henning Martinsson in the 81st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henning Martinsson in the 88th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute, Alex Herrero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 97th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobias Elizardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sarmiento de Resistencia's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
