After having played for 21 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With an all-out effort, Granbergs Goa Grabbar's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ivan Hermansson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ivan Hermansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ivan Hermansson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. When Camilo Gaos fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Camilo Gaos a yellow card for diving instead. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Granbergs Goa Grabbar fully deserved thier win.
