In the 5th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Feliciano Ayala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Santos de Buenos Aires FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Teodosio James hit a great ball. In the 7th minute of the match Joel Gaona sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Feliciano Ayala skillfully saved the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Santos de Buenos Aires FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Feliciano Ayala reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Santos de Buenos Aires FC's Rafael Gipuzkoa got a free kick in the 12th minute. The wind increased when Danilo Seber made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Hipolito Rozarius notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 77 minutes Mexico's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Matias Remir who took care of the corner kick. Bruno Cambiasso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Feliciano Ayala made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. When Lautaro Mancebo came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Mancebo couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Cambiasso in the 93rd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santos de Buenos Aires FC's Feliciano Ayala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 94th minute of play. 96 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Feliciano Ayala was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Santos de Buenos Aires FC's Ramon Angel was substituted for Danilo Seber. When the final whistle sounded Mexico left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Santos de Buenos Aires FC.
